Legal Framework

In 2008, Universidad Privada María Serrana was created by Law No. 3.694 of the National Congress, published as a Law of the Republic by the Executive Branch on January 9, 2009, adapting its operations to the regulations established in Law No. 136/93, "ON UNIVERSITIES", its amendment established through Law No. 2529/06 "WHICH AMENDS ARTICLES 4, 5, 8 AND 15 OF LAW No. 136/93 ON UNIVERSITIES" and Law No. 1264/98 "GENERAL EDUCATION LAW", subsequently through Law No. 3973 of 2010, Law No. 2529/06 was partially amended.-

Currently in force is Law No. 4995 of 2013 "ON HIGHER EDUCATION", which repeals Articles 8, 48, 49, 53, 54 of Law No. 1264/98 "GENERAL EDUCATION LAW", Articles 149, 231, 237 of Law No. 836/80 "SANITARY CODE", Articles 1 through 23 of Law 136/93 "ON UNIVERSITIES" and its amendments and all legal and regulatory provisions contrary to this Law.

Law 4995/2013 "ON HIGHER EDUCATION" has been regulated by CONES Resolution No. 166/2015, "Which Regulates Law No. 4995/2013 – On Higher Education"; likewise, the National Council of Higher Education, as one of its powers conferred in Article No. 9 inc. p) of Law No. 4995/2013, has issued other regulations governing the current operations of Universidad Privada María Serrana.-
