QUALITY EDUCATION
María Serrana School
Presentation
The María Serrana Educational Center (C.E.M.S.) trains students with academic excellence and Christian humanist values. Our innovative pedagogical approach combines updated scientific knowledge with investigative methodology, preparing technical professionals capable of making objective and responsible decisions. We develop the personal potential of each student, cultivating a sound conscience and social commitment to face the challenges of today's world.

Educational Principles of C.E.M.S.:
- The family is the first and only educator;
- Education in favor of life;
- Education for love and family;
- Education in a family spirit;
- Education to discover the vocation to Christian life, personal and professional.
Mission
To offer a quality educational service providing comprehensive training with critical thinking grounded in principles of leadership and Christian values, in line with the demands of our current society and its technological advances, contributing to the well-being and development of the country, the region and the world.
Vision
To become a leading Educational Center in educational quality, a national and international reference with its own innovative pedagogical model, preserving and enhancing human and Christian values.

To build the scientific and human foundations of our students, in parallel with the enormous changes and demands in the pedagogical field. To guide and train our students for objective and equitable decision-making. To strengthen leadership capacity, enhancing human and Christian values. To socially integrate our students with the cognitive tools necessary to perform adequately in the fields of intellectual and qualitative competence. To foster the critical and objective capacity of our students, in favor of the restructuring necessary for the integral development of the nation.

The doors of María Serrana opened on December 20, 2000, with twelve hundred students, from Nursery through the third year of the Baccalaureate, which included Humanities, Computer Technology, Health and, subsequently, Business Administration. This is where the response to the mediocre educational service in the private sector would be reversed by the qualities of academic and human excellence that have been embodied from the very beginning in the practice of teaching. However, the progressive absence of altruistic values would be replaced by the exaltation of the Family as a fundamental pillar in the construction of a mature and efficient personality when it comes to making decisions; for this reason, 2003 was the setting for the First Family Gathering, attended by around two thousand six hundred people, as an extension of the Educational Projects embedded within the classroom curriculum, such as Ethical Education, Human Values, Public Speaking, Conflict Resolution, Literary Workshop, Youth Journalism, among others. These are accompanied by Folklore Day, Talent Night, Cultural Fridays, Science Fair, Chess, Olympics and many other activities that strengthen students' ability to perform with confidence before an assembly and to defend their position with objectivity and a sense of justice, while also instilling in them a love for what belongs to our traditions and identifies us as a Nation.

For this reason, 2005 was also a year of abundant blessings, thanks to which, through a personal loan, the General Director managed to acquire the right-hand plot of the original property, giving free rein to the desire to expand the building structure to more effectively respond to the space needs of the growing student population. And always faithful to its Vision of offering quality, María Serrana in 2006 launched its Community Newspaper "María Serrana Tribuna," whose content stands out for its useful information and, at the same time, serious research and viewpoints from students and the teaching team, in line with the questions of the present day. In the pursuit of strengthening its educational philosophy, María Serrana in 2006 signed an alliance with the Rotary Club, with the aim of stimulating and fostering the ideal of service as a worthy foundation, and in particular, stimulating and fostering mutual knowledge and friendship as an occasion to serve, from which Good Faith is inferred as a norm in the establishment of commercial relations. And at the height of the "Microenterprise" Project, María Serrana carried out social work in 2006 with the residents of Chacarita through workshops to help them create a profitable microenterprise, materialized in the promotion of workshops for:
- Manufacturing of Soy-derived Products.
- General Crafts.
- Bakery.

Accompanied by a mobile clinic to help alleviate the needs of that disadvantaged sector of our City of Asunción. Already bearing the fruits of excellence in 2007, the María Serrana Educational Center participated in the Ibero-American Education Congress, held in Panama and then Brazil, receiving recognition from such an important entity with the title of "Academic Excellence," for the high number of graduates who seamlessly enter University Education, particularly at the National University of Asunción. And walking with the steps of one who is certain that education is the necessary instrument of freedom, in 2007 a plot was acquired in the City of Limpio, which became the School Farm for students from Early Childhood through the Third Year of Secondary, encouraging our students in the love and respect for nature in a responsible manner. So that history is not left without the ink written by the letters of experience, in 2008 María Serrana received, in the person of its General Director Prof. Dr. Norma Aquino, Awards for the successful educational development policy implemented, which ensure pedagogical and human vitality, placing the Institution among the best in the Country and Ibero-America, an achievement reached thanks to the sustained effort to remain at the forefront of advances in empirical and human sciences.
In 2009, the University was authorized with 16 programs, developing alongside the Educational Center as an extension of it, continuing through 2019, executing Projects with high pedagogical reach, in addition to permanent updates in the various areas that build the pillars of María Serrana.
